FAQ

Turnkey casino operator FAQ — the questions we actually get asked.

What is a turnkey casino solution?

+

A turnkey casino solution is a pre-built online casino platform that you license or purchase outright, integrate with your own payment providers and game aggregators, and operate under your own gambling license. Unlike a white label, you own the license, the player database, and the brand — you don't ride on a provider's licensing umbrella.

Do I need my own gambling license for a turnkey casino?

+

Yes. This is the defining difference from white label. Under a turnkey model you hold your own license — MGA, Curaçao LOK, UKGC, Gibraltar, or another jurisdiction appropriate to your target markets. If you don't yet hold one, we point you at a licensing specialist and walk you through what to expect.

How long does a turnkey casino take to launch?

+

Typically 2–4 months for the platform side once you already hold a license or are pursuing Curaçao. Longer if you're applying for MGA (6–12 months realistically) or UKGC (6–18 months). Timeline is dominated by licensing, not platform integration.

How much does a turnkey casino cost?

+

Platform setup is typically €30,000–€100,000+ depending on scope. Licensing adds anywhere from ~€30K (Curaçao) to €100K+ (MGA) to six figures (UKGC). Add payment setup, first-year marketing, and working capital and realistic first-year all-in sits in six figures at the low end. See our costs and timeline page for the full breakdown.

What's the difference between turnkey and white label?

+

White label: you operate under the provider's license, launch in weeks, pay 15–40% of NGR to the provider forever, and the provider controls the player database. Turnkey: you operate under your own license, launch in months, pay a setup fee plus a flat licensing fee or 0–5% revenue share, and own the license, PSP relationships, and player data outright.

What's the difference between turnkey and custom build?

+

Turnkey licenses or purchases a pre-built platform and gets you to market in months on a six-figure budget. Custom build means writing your own platform, which takes 12+ months and a seven-figure investment. Turnkey gives you nearly all of custom's ownership benefits without the timeline or capital — the tradeoff is you don't set the platform's product roadmap.

Which gambling license is right for my turnkey casino?

+

Depends on your target markets. Curaçao LOK is fast and cheap (~€30K, 3–6 months) but weaker in strictly regulated Tier-1 markets. MGA is expensive and slow (€100K+, 6–12 months) but respected across the EU. UKGC is high six figures and UK-only. Start from your target market and work backwards — a licensing specialist is non-negotiable. Nothing here is legal advice.

Do I control my own payment providers in a turnkey setup?

+

Yes — another key differentiator from white label. You sign PSP contracts directly, funds settle into your accounts, and you negotiate rates and rolling reserves in your name. You also carry chargeback exposure, so PSP redundancy matters.

What happens to my player data?

+

You own it. Unlike white label, where the provider ultimately controls the player database and can restrict portability, turnkey operators hold the raw player data directly. That's an asset — it's also a GDPR / data-protection obligation you're now responsible for.

Can I upgrade from white label to turnkey later?

+

Yes, and it's a very common path. Operators use white label to validate the market and prove player LTV, then graduate to turnkey once the economics of continuing to share 15–40% of NGR indefinitely stop making sense. Player data portability is negotiated up front in the white label exit clause — this is why we always flag exit terms before an operator signs any white label deal.

What does this advisory service cost me?

+

Nothing extra. The platform partner pays us an introduction fee when a match leads to a contract. The commercial terms you sign with the partner are between you and them — our fee doesn't sit on top of your costs.

Do you support crypto-first turnkey casinos?

+

Yes. Curaçao LOK is a common choice for crypto-first turnkey operators, and several turnkey platforms in our network specialise in crypto or hybrid crypto/fiat. The right match depends on your target GEOs and payment scope.

Is this legal?

+

This site is a B2B advisory service. We don't operate gambling platforms and no wagering happens on this site. The platform partners we work with operate legitimate turnkey infrastructure and the licenses we help you pursue are real regulator-issued licenses. The legality of the casino brand you launch depends on the license you hold and the markets you accept players from — we discuss that specifically on the discovery call.
